Women for Women France, represented by CEO Sarah McGrath and President Yasmine El Kotni, sits on the national committee for the deployment of support systems for victims of gender-based violence, to advocate for the needs of non-French people confronted with domestic abuse in France.

These needs include:

  1. A reform of the immigration code (CESEDA), and French immigration processing protocols, to ensure that right of residence is issued within an urgent timeframe to all victims of gender-based violence so victims can leave their violent partner;
  2. A budget allocated to the establishment of multilingual support services;
  3. The establishment of a working group to fight against intersectional discrimination, so foreign-born women are not excluded from the labor and housing markets;
  4. Increased diversity and inclusion in discussions and round tables about gender based violence in France.

One of the topics discussed was the importance of rolling out the innovative and effective model created by Dr Ghada Hatem-Gantzer, La Maison des femmes Saint-Denis in other regions of France.

WFWF would like to thank Agnès Firmin Le Bodo, Minister Delegate in charge of Territorial Organization and Health Professions to the Minister of Health and Prevention for setting up this committee.
